In episode 131 of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast president, Dr. Ricky G. Ford, to the podcast as Kollmeyer and Ford sit down to discuss what is happening at the college. In this week's update, Dr. Ford welcomes everyone to Homecoming Week and gives a run-down on all the activities that will be happening including a Pep Rally on the lawn in front of the Ramsey Student Services Building on Thursday, October 15; a change to the family tailgate just for this week; the presentation of the homecoming court pre-game instead of halftime and the annual Homecoming contest against Coahoma Community College and Ford throws a Northeast Nugget in there pointing out that Coahoma is now led by former Tiger assistant coach Travis Macon. Ford also talks about all the upcoming exhibitions and scrimmages surrounding our baseball, softball, men's basketball, women's basketball teams along with the fall season for our golf team. Ford encourages everyone to finish the semester strong and reminds listeners that for the first time in recent history, Northeast will finish before Thanksgiving break for the seated classes for the Fall 2020 semester. Ford addresses the lighting on Cunningham Boulevard and states that the lights will be changed for safety and it should be done in time for the holiday season. Ford gives an update on construction projects going on around Northeast such as the Mississippi Silicon $100,000 grant that will help fund a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning training lab at the Northeast at Corinth center and the estimated completion (November 7) of the Northeast at Ripley center with an expected open date in January 2021.
