In episode 127 of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast president, Dr. Ricky G. Ford, to the podcast as Kollmeyer and Ford sit down to discuss what is happening at the college. In last week's update, Dr. Ford updates listeners about a push for higher enrollment numbers and retention rates amongst the college. Ford talks about where the college is and how much of a factor that enrollment plays in the daily functions of the college. Ford also discusses a push to put students back in face-to-face classes and that many students have requested face-to-face classes over online and virtual learning. Ford discusses the upcoming football season -- including the home and season opener against Holmes Community College at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, and also the homecoming date against Coahoma Community College on Thursday, October 15. Ford and Kollmeyer both talk about a recent award that the college received -- the Great Colleges to Work For. Northeast along with three other community colleges in the state received the honor for the two-year schools in the Magnolia State with Northeast being featured for job satisfaction and work-life balance.
