In today's episode, we talk more about the issues surrounding the value of women in our society, church and throughout history. I also share a personal testimony of how this series, especially last week's message, has brought breakthrough in my life. I hope you'll be able to say the same!
Then, we start our study in 1 Corinthians 14, which is considered a problem passage, due to two verses Paul's shares concerning women. As we delve into our study, we find these two verses do not fit (or harmonize) with the rest of the Scriptures regarding Church ministry and leadership. A critical contradiction to note, since it may mean there's a more plausible way to explain and interpret these two verses and, consequently, the whole passage.
Every single person needs to understand what the Bible says about this issue of women in ministry. Listen to today's podcast to learn more!
RESOURCES
1. Why Not Women? written by Loren Cunningham and David Hamilton
I highly recommend this book! It includes personal experience regarding women in ministry, and in-depth studies on this issue from key Bible passages, including the "problem passages."
2. The Story of Women and Power Trailer: This documentary focuses on the Women's Rights Movement in Great Britain, where women had fought simply to gain the basic rights of a free citizen. It doesn't put a heavy emphasis on feminism. Very eye-opening!

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. If you're a female, take the time to examine the following:

  • how you were viewed as a female in your growing up years
  • society's view of women
  • the media's view of women
  • your Christian and Church experience as a female
  • and, consequently, your own beliefs and attitudes regarding the value of women and femininity

If you're a male, what has shaped your views and attitudes towards females? Society, culture, the media, what you've been taught, etc. OR the Word of God? Why is this so important?
(For everyone) How can you change your views and attitudes towards females in the light of the Bible and the high value God places upon them?
If we don't actively seek to renew our minds in God's Word, we will default to the thinking of the society and culture around us. Reflect strongly on this statement and its implications.
2. We talked about the influence of our society and culture upon our belief system, even in the Church. Did ancient misogynistic views influence the English translation of these Bible passages? Why or why not?
3. Reflect on why it's so important to see the Bible as one whole woven fabric.

ACTION STEPS
1. Slowly review and meditate upon what was shared in this podcast.
2. Subscribe and share this podcast with others who may be interested.
3. For females: what steps will you begin to take to change any ungodly beliefs you have towards yourself to let your light shine brightly?
By faith, take the time to thank God for making you a female!
Remember... He has an eternal purpose for why He made you the way He did.
How will you make the way for other women to find freedom?
4. For males: What steps will you take to be a champion of women? How will you change any ungodly perceptions you carry towards women in order to see them as God does? How will you then begin to treat women in redemptive ways to the glory of God?
