Academic studies and intellectual development has been traditionally a primary focus of the Educators. For education in the New Age, intellectual development will be combined with character building and learning to link the lower mind of the personality with the Soul into an integrated whole. A spiritual education would teach the student to identify and transcend his own weaknesses. In so doing, he would learn to incorporate a “learned wisdom”, understanding, tolerance, patience, and vision towards life and all people.
Future educators must instill knowledge, wisdom, and values of what civilization has to offer and how to apply this in life. Objectives in New Age Education will center on teaching new ideals and developing man's character for cultural unfoldment. Overall, their work will prepare the student for esoteric training, education for peace, and help bridge the gap between the lower mind and the Soul.
