535: Of Chalk & Injuries... - All Around the NBA Playoffs & More w/ the Guru, Gabe Goldfield - The Roundup Podcast

On today’s show, we’re just into Round 2 of the NBA Playoffs and despite some post trade deadline super-team promise and the tease of a few upsets, it’s been all chalk so far. The Nets were swept what seems like months ago without Ben Simmons ever playing a minute, and the Sixers hopes died the moment Joel Embiid broke an orbital bone, since James Harden has clearly shown he’s incapable of carrying the team in the possible MVP’s absence. So the Heat look poised to advance, short of a miraculous Embiid recovery, with the Suns up 2-0 on the Mavs, and while Luka isn’t outmatched as a star, Dallas is outgunned as a team, so it looks likely that the chalk will continue with both 1 seeds advancing. And what do we have left? Possibly the most intriguing matchup of the entire season in Warriors/Grizzlies, as the bad blood boils over and this emerging rivalry continues to develop. Ja is torching the W’s, GP2 had his elbow broken by Dillon Brooks, Draymond got stitches, and this one looks like it’s going 7. And in the East, the Celtics might be swarming the Bucks on D but the defending champs are going home with the road split, and there’s no way I’m betting against Giannis, the real MVP! So sit back, the NBA Playoffs are heating up, the race for the title is still wide open and we’re breaking down how it’s all unfolding, next on the Roundup Podcast so let’s get rolling . . .
