In this episode of the National Crawford Roundtable we discuss the new Canadian C-4 law and its possible impact on the United States. The law makes it a criminal offense, punishable by up to 5 years in prison, to engage in any kind of "conversion therapy" for homosexuality or gender identity. Because of the way in which "conversion therapy" is being defined, is it possible that this could apply to more than just licensed counselors, but to private conversations between pastors and church members, friends, or even parents and their children? LGBTQ activists claim Christians are just being paranoid, but the law itself gives no exemption for pastors or parents, so could it be used by a liberal judge to throw the book at a pastor because of his sermon, or for counseling someone who asked for help overcoming their same-sex attraction, or parents who refuse to affirm the gender-confusion wishes of their child? How serious of an issue is this? Will it come to the United States? Might pastors, teachers, talk show hosts and others end up in jail over this? How will this movement affect parents?
