In this episode, Saskhia and Denim Blu engage in a candid conversation about a spectrum of topics, from LGBT issues to Asian representation in the LGBT and music scene in Canada. Denim Blu, an emerging Toronto-based singer-songwriter, shares his experiences and challenges as a Chinese-born queer artist breaking barriers in the pop music landscape.

Denim Blu's journey is a rebellion against societal expectations. As a Chinese-born artist making pop music, embracing his identity as a gay man, and expressing his sensuality, he challenges stereotypes and norms. His music, influenced by his training across three continents – China, the UK, and Toronto – blends blues, dance, electronica, and R&B elements, creating a unique and unapologetically queer sound.

Throughout the episode, Denim Blu's narrative echoes the sonic sentiments of artists like Robyn, Christina Aguilera, and Charlie Puth, combined with the lyrical depth reminiscent of Florence and the Machine and Paloma Faith. His music is not just a pop fantasy; it's a compelling story.

Join Saskhia and Denim Blu as they delve into the intricacies of Denim Blu's musical career, discussing the challenges he has faced, the cultural influences shaping his sound, and his unapologetic approach to being an artist with a story to tell. Get ready for an insightful exploration of the intersectionality of identity, music, and the Canadian music scene in this episode of Music Industry Insights Worldwide."
