Journalists covering the refugee crisis have been affected by moral injury and trauma, according to a report by the International News Safety Institute. A recorded seminar from Gothenburg Media Days.
"The Emotional Toll on Journalists Covering the Refugee Crisis" is the first study of its kind into the response of news media professionals covering a humanitarian crisis and was prompted by the arrival in Europe by sea of more than one million migrants in 2015. Hannah Storm, co-author of the report presents its findings and Alice Petrén of Swedish Radio, one of the journalists interviewed for the report, discusses its findings. Participants: Hannah Storm, Director of the International News Safety Institute (INSI) and Co-author of the report "The Emotional Toll on Journalists Covering the Refugee Crisis" and Alice Petrén, Migrant correspondent at Swedish Radio.
