The truth is that I have issues with authority, and I am a contrarian.

That's why I write about law and legitimacy; it's also why I represent unpopular people. I suspect I'd do the same thing in paradise, should I ever get there. In this episode I peel back the curtain and give you a glimpse of why these issues are so important to me. This is a deeply personal and revealing piece, and I doubt I could have done it without the benefit of a decade or more of psychoanalysis.

Yes, I spend four hours a week on the couch, asking why this, rather than that. As I like to joke, I put the psycho in psychoanalysis. I recommend that anyone dealing with other people's troubles get into analysis. It is a lifeline that will help you dive deeply into the well of another's sorrow without being swallowed whole by it. If personal stuff offends you, skip this one. If you want to know what forces help forge the lens I bring to bear on the topics I talk about here and that I write about on my blog page, pattisblog.com, then give it a listen. Thanks for stopping by. And, yes, I did crash my father's funeral. He didn't want me to attend, you see...
