Breaking the Gender Barrier: Drill Sergeant Marsha
Manage episode 267606145 series 2761325
I met an awesome lady while I was in Ft. Knox for a military school. We were in the class and she quickly became a hero to us by offering to DD for us while we explored Louisville. I also learned she was a drill sergeant prior to the new Army MOS we were in school to obtain. Female drill sergeants aren't unheard of, though there are far fewer than their male counterparts.
She is really short in stature, which makes it even more challenging for a female, but ol' Mash em' up Marsha gives no shits about being a foot shorter than some stinky 18 year old nerd from Michigan.
She's also a marathoner and has a southern accent like melted butter, likely because she hails form the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in West "by god" Virginia.
