In this inspiring episode, we sit down with Martina Kelades, a mental health advocate, podcast host and actress, whose journey is as impactful as it is diverse.
Martina opens up about her early career dedicated to helping others, which soon evolved into a personal commitment to mental health advocacy when she faced her own challenges of overwhelm and burnout. Supported by her family, she took a step back to rest and realign, which led her down a path of self-discovery, renewed purpose, and a deeper commitment to lifting up others.
Martina shares how she found a voice through podcasting, addressing the mental health struggles so many experience yet find difficult to discuss openly. Her work took another turn with her unexpected success on TikTok, where her talent and authenticity quickly attracted attention. This new creative outlet led her to explore acting, where her natural abilities landed her opportunities and expanded her reach.
In this episode, we also explore Martina's experiences growing up as one of the few Black girls in a rural town, her sense of belonging, and how her faith has shaped her perspective. Join us as we talk about acting, family, mental health, community, faith, and the power of finding purpose in unexpected places.
