Health and Mindset Coach and author of Eat Clean, Live Free: A Woman's Guide to Health, Beauty, And Youthful Energy, Gina Santangelo talks about food and emotions - those times when you find yourself eating for reasons other than satisfying actual physical hunger. Most of us have, at some point, developed an emotional eating pattern. In fact, the term "comfort food" was coined because of the belief that certain foods provide a release from discomfort, or a momentary sense of pleasure and satisfaction when you’re feeling something you don’t want to feel. It doesn't help that food marketing promises an emotional benefit beyond the food itself —? such as comfort, excitement, belonging, etc. In this podcast, Gina gives some tips on how to differentiate between real hunger (the one we must honor) and emotional hunger. Learning to identify our emotional eating triggers and overcoming them will start us off to a path of enjoying our food — and our life — in a whole new, healthier way.
