Horizon - Vol. 1 - Issue #3 | The Janus
Manage episode 282801255 series 2833048
In a futuristic world filled with all manners of super powered individuals, technological advancements, and an almost utopian state of being; Horizon City seems like it would have no need for superheroes. Most people live their day to day lives without worrying about the looming threat of crime, racism, corruption, or even the struggles of public transportation. Little do they know what really happens in the city. With the surge of metahumans the world is indeed a safer place, but there are two sides to every coin. While people with superpowers provide protection, they also create a greater threat to the city itself.
Enter our protagonist, Recharge.
James “Pep” Pepper, like most teens, goes to school, works a job, and has friends. While that may be more than enough to handle for any teen his age, Pep also spends his free time fighting giant gray alien creatures, busting up robberies, and most importantly: protecting the people he loves. Bound by a duty to prove that “with great power, comes great responsibility” Recharge will do everything he can to defend the city he calls home.
DISCLAIMER: This episode was our test-run for the podcast. I’m using a $20 microphone, Matt is using an earbud mic (iirc), and we recorded through Discord. The audio quality of the session may not be the greatest, but it does improve in Issue No. 6 forward. The post-recorded intro segments are a much better reflection of how our podcast currently sounds.
