Brian shares Mack Newton's 5 rules to simplify life, but physically and mentally.

Brian shares an interview (Episode #353) that he did with his friend, mentor, and teacher, the late Mack Newton. Mack Newton trained in Martial Arts for over 70 years, specializing in Taekwon-Do since 1966. From 1981 to 1984, he was the Head Coach of the USA Taekwon-Do Team, creating the current international competition format.

In 1985, Mack became the Conditioning Coach for the Oakland A’s, serving until 1993. He also worked with the Dallas Cowboys from 1989 to 1993. His innovative training methods have extended the careers of numerous MLB and NFL players, including Roy Green, Jay Novacek, Aeneas Williams, Dave Stewart, Ricky Henderson, Sandy Alomar, and Charles Barkley.

Mack developed the self-defense program "Hit n’ Run, Self-Defense for Women," now known as "I Will Fight Back, Self-Defense for Women," in 1973. After hip replacement surgery in 1987, he used his rehab methods to return to full-time Taekwon-Do teaching and competition. He successfully rehabilitated NFL quarterback Neil Lomax and multi-sport superstar Bo Jackson.

In 1994, Mack earned a 9th Degree Black Belt and was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 1995 and the International Taekwon-Do Hall of Fame in 2005. He has written two books, "A Path to Power" and "The D-Factor," and hosted TV and radio shows on self-defense and personal development.
