As a woman of color, I find myself in uncomfortable situations regarding my race or sex. From being physically ignored to overlooked, I’ve found that as much as I try to love on others, sometimes the world around me is not in a space to reciprocate that love. It used to hurt my feelings at a time in my life, but now I’ve learned how to have uncomfortable conversations and extend forgiveness to those who blindly operate in ignorance. This week on the Redefining Wealth Podcast we’re joined by Emmanuel Acho to embrace the Illogical and learn how to create safe spaces to have Uncomfortable Conversations. Emmanuel Acho is a former NFL linebacker, #1 New York Times bestselling author and the host/producer of the book and Emmy Award–winning Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man, his second book, Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Boy, and his most recent book debut, ILLOGICAL. His groundbreaking online series, intended to drive meaningful dialogue around racial insensitivity and ignorance, launched in June 2020, with more than 90 million views to date, which led Emmanuel to become a 2021 Sports Emmy winner, Fox Sports Analyst (cohost, FS1 Speak for Yourself) and television personality.
